Amity was a shy cat, rescued by Sunshine’s Friends in Maryland, she was matched with me, Mimi during the height of COVID. She and I took a bit to get close, Amity was a very cautious cat but she came to trust me and loved me a lot. She was my Emotional Support Animal and was the main reason I was able to get up most days while I was experiencing abuse at home.
She kept me alive. In March 2025, I left home with her and I knew taking care of her and me by myself would be hard, but I kept at it. Amity had many health issues and developed dementia. When she did, I knew it was finally time to let her go.
Friends and family will say how great a cat she was, and how far she made it for me. She’s the reason I can keep going. Amity was my first cat, and I will truly never forget her.
I’m sorry for your loss.
